WHITEHOLE — Vision

Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-08-17 · SAAAD LABS LLC d/b/a WHITEHOLE

The short version: WHITEHOLE is built so the upside lands with the people who make the music. Economic equity here means something plain — you keep your rights, you can read every number, and the arithmetic is designed around what a record is worth to someone who loves it, not around a pool you will never see.

The same release, two worlds

ElsewhereOn WHITEHOLE
Upload fees, annual fees, or a distributor's cut stacked under the platform's cut. No pay-to-play, ever. Releasing costs nothing; the platform earns a stated 15% on downloads and the margin on subscriptions — and nothing else.
A per-stream payout that is a moving fraction of a revenue pool — unpublished, recalculated, diluted as the pool grows. A published rate derived from ownership. A paid-tier stream accrues $0.007 — one hundredth of what an owned copy nets — because one hundred plays is treated as the listening equivalent of owning the record. The rate is printed, and it changes only prospectively, with notice.
Sales fractions after several intermediaries each take a share. $0.7105 of every $0.99 download accrues to the recording's payees — the only deductions are the songwriter's statutory share and the platform's stated fee. Distributor and store are the same house; there is no stack.
Exclusive terms, content lock-in, catalogs that are expensive to leave. Non-exclusive, always. Your masters stay yours, your composition rights never enter the deal, and you can release everywhere else at the same time — or leave with everything.
Dashboards that show trends but not arithmetic. Statements that add up. Every accrual, per track, per tier, at published rates — checkable to the cent, because the books balance to the cent.
Fans rent access; when they stop paying, the music vanishes. Fans can own. A purchased download is permanent, which makes a sale a sale — real revenue at a real price, not a fraction of a lapsed subscription.

Why the economics work in your favor

Most platforms price music against other platforms. WHITEHOLE prices it against ownership: the $20 Patron tier is a vinyl a month, the $0.99 download is the single it always was, and the stream rate is derived from those anchors rather than negotiated down from them. When the unit of value is a record instead of a fraction of a pool, the artist's share stops shrinking as the platform grows — that is the equity, built into the arithmetic instead of promised in a press release.

And where it is heading

WHITEHOLE is being built toward a creator economy in the literal sense: the professional tools artists work with owned rather than rented, and a real say in the platform's direction held by the people whose work it carries. Those layers arrive one at a time, announced when the code and the paperwork make them true — the Mission page holds the principles, and the Artist Onboarding page is where releasing here starts.
